The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held an important hearing titled: "Prostate Cancer: New Questions About Screening and Treatment" on March 4. Joining a handful of other distinguished experts, Roswell Park's Dr. James Mohler, Senior Vice President for Translational Research and Chair, Department of Urology, was invited to give expert testimony on the use of PSA and the early detection, treatment and overtreatment of prostate cancer; as well as to provide recommendations. Dr. Mohler also serves as the chair of the NCCN Guidelines Panel for Prostate Cancer, the group that develops the national "best practice" guidelines for prostate cancer care.
