Myth #8: If I have treatment for prostate cancer, I will be incontinent or impotent for the rest of my life.

Incontinence and erectile dysfunction are reported less often among men treated at major cancer centers, such as Roswell Park, where this type of cancer is treated on a more routine basis. Men who do experience these conditions will find that there are several solutions that can help improve symptoms.

No Incontinence nor ED

I had my RRP in Feb 2009. I was down to 1 pad a day by my first follow-up appt and completely off pads by 3 months. As far as ED is concerned, I was able to have erections within that same time period, however, my libido and desire for sex had decreased. I was prescribed daily Cialis to help with blood flow to the Penis. I no longer take Cialis and am able to have quality intercourse. I can't say that I have the Libido of my 30 something self, but then again I am 47. :-)
